Job Position: Project Mining Geologist

Location: USK Office, Solwezi, Copperbelt Province, Zambia

USK is actively seeking a seasoned Geologist to join our dedicated team at our Solwezi office in Zambia. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to bring their specialist knowledge and skills to a rapidly expanding organization, contributing significantly to our growth and understanding of the Zambian mining sector.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervising drilling operations with meticulous precision
- Conducting geological and geotechnical logging
- Performing geostatistical analysis
- Developing and implementing mapping strategies
- Managing projects effectively to ensure goals are met 
- Compiling comprehensive and insightful reports
- Building strong relationships with clients
- Spearheading business development initiatives
- Extensive travel within Zambia, DRC, Tanzania for fieldwork and investigations
- Willingness to work extended hours when necessary

Qualifications:

- A minimum of 3-5 years of work experience as a Geologist
- BSc. in Geology, Engineering Geology, Mining Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or related fields
- A deep understanding of the mining sector in Zambia
- Experience in Mines, particularly exploration or mine geotechnical investigations
- Proficiency in drilling supervision
- Expertise in geological/geotechnical logging, mapping, and geostatistical analysis
- Familiarity with software such as Surfer, GIS, Strater, GINT or Logplot
- Strong project management skills and ability to compile detailed reports
- Stellar client liaison and business development skills
- A valid driver's license and personal vehicle

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to handle heavy loads (up to 30kg)
- Adaptability to work under varying weather conditions
- Stamina to endure the physical demands of fieldwork
