Health Safety Security & Environment Policy
Our Workers Health and Safety is of utmost importance. We as a company, have an ongoing objective to protect ourselves from workplace injury or occupational illness. Owner / H&S Co-coordinator will make every effort to provide a healthy and safe work environment. We as a company must be dedicated to the objective of reducing the risk of injury and illness in the workplace.
USK ultimately responsible for employee health and safety. As Owner and H&S Co-coordinator, we are committed to taking every reasonable precaution to protect employees from harm. We expect that all workplace parties will work together to exceed the minimums as prescribed by legislation.
To support this commitment, all our Engineers, Technicians, Drillers, Helpers and Workers share a joint responsibility to implement and maintain an Internal Responsibility System directed at reducing and preventing incidents, injuries and accidents resulting in occupational injuries, diseases and illnesses.
We as a company are responsible and accountable for the health and safety of our fellow employees whenever under our supervision. All Employees are responsible to ensure that machinery and equipment are safe and that helpers/workers follow established safe work practices and procedures. Employees must receive adequate training in their specific work tasks to protect their health and safety.
Every employee, (H & S Co-ordinator, Engineer, Technician, Drillers, Helpers and Workers) must protect their own health and safety by following the Occupational Health & Safety Act, (Act 85 of 1993) and Construction Regulations 2014, as well as other best practice standards that govern safe work practices and procedures. All hazards must be immediately reported to H & S Co-coordinator so they can be corrected.
All workplace parties are expected to consider health and safety in every activity. Commitment to health and safety is an essential part of our company from the owners to the employees.
